Where’s Winnie? Named a 2026 IPPY Book Awards Finalist

Some moments in publishing feel especially meaningful, and this is one of them.

I’m honored to share that Where’s Winnie? has been named a Finalist in the 2026 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards).

As an independent author and publisher, every milestone represents countless hours of writing, revising, designing, and believing in a story long before anyone else has the chance to read it. To have Where’s Winnie? recognized by one of the most respected awards celebrating independent publishing is an incredible honor.

A Story Inspired by Real Life

Where’s Winnie? is inspired by the true story of our tiny rescue dog, Winnie, who disappeared for 21 days. What followed was an extraordinary community effort filled with hope, determination, and kindness. Thankfully, Winnie found her way home.

That experience became the inspiration for a picture book that helps children explore themes of love, hope, resilience, and the special bond between people and their pets.

Why This Recognition Matters

The Independent Publisher Book Awards have celebrated excellence in independent publishing for nearly 30 years, recognizing books that stand out for their quality, creativity, and impact.

Being named an IPPY finalist is not only an exciting accomplishment for Where’s Winnie?—it’s also a reminder that independent authors can create stories that resonate with readers around the world.

Thank You

This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of so many people.

Thank you to every parent who has shared Where’s Winnie? with their children, every teacher and librarian who has introduced the story to young readers, every reviewer who took the time to leave thoughtful feedback, and every friend, family member, and supporter who has cheered us on throughout this journey.

Your encouragement has meant more than you know.

Looking Ahead

This recognition motivates me even more as I continue creating meaningful stories through Bunny Tales. My hope has always been to publish books that spark conversations, encourage empathy, and leave children feeling just a little more hopeful than before they opened the first page.

Thank you for being part of Winnie’s journey.

Here’s to many more stories ahead.
